My Grandma's jewelry has been sitting in a box in my closet for 30 years.
I've taken the box down and looked at all the pretty pieces and tried to figure out what to do with them.... then back in the closet it went, only to be brought down a few months later.
Some of her pins I have worn, but most were missing a piece or there was only one earring.
An antique dealer told me that the large turquoise piece was a shoe clip, I was quite surprised, and I had never seen one before.
After years of looking at them I finally got an idea! duh!
Then I glued a pin on the back. It is very light weight and only measures about four inches long. I used the shoe clip, a couple of earrings, a pin, and a pearl button. The leaves and stars were some newer ones of mine.
I think my Grandma would be happy to know I have treasured her jewelry and now I'll be wearing it. Thank you Grandma!
I'm showing my jewelry piece at fire flies and jelly beans.
Cristie, You Grandma would be very proud of you! I love the turquoise shoe clip! Hope your sale went well. Thanks for sharing so much talent.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I never would have thought to put those elements together, but it turned out great!
