Welcome Spring

After a long winter I'm so excited for spring to finally really be here. I think I'm going to take a little break from blogging and really enjoy the season. I have so many projects that I'm really looking forward to working on. Hope you all have a wonderful Spring time!

Christmas Open House

After spending 10 to 12 hours at my shop from last Sat. til Wed. night I am a little sleep deprived! It's so much work and I never think I'll get it done in time, but somehow I manage to open the doors on time. With a lot of help from some of my wonderful friends it was a great success. Here are a few pictures of the mess and then of it coming together.

I really love to be able to feature local artist and their crafts. These beautiful bowls are made by my brother. There are hundreds of pieces of wood glued together to form the pattern and then on the lathe he shapes and hollows them out. They are beautiful and real works of art.

Day three..Panic, no way can we get it ready.

This tree is called "Time for Christmas."

Starting to come together. The biggest job is getting the fall display done (don't want to forget Thanksgiving) and getting all the furniture pieces and trees in place.

I think it's finally starting to come together with only hours left to go...breath...you can do it.

This wonderful Santa painting is done by my friend Stacy who has only been painting for about nine years. Her art is amazing!

This fall painting is done by another local artist and friend Renee. She uses wonderful colors.

Back to work....Oh one more, my wonderful son, Nick and his wife make all my shelves and picture frames..oh and one more, but I don't have a picture of the magnets that my beautiful grand daughter, Necia makes.

Ok now back to work.....

Final clean up before opening the door. Couldn't have done it without my friend, Cindy's help. She also made the popcorn for me. How do you ever thank someone for all the help?

Baskets filled with bags of gourmet popcorn was given out to the customers and a little magnet made from bottle caps with a snowflake on the front and on the back was a 20 to 40% off coupon good on one item. Everyone likes a deal especially now with the slow economy.

Doesn't the popcorn look yummy

These wonderful little gingerbread dolls are made by my friend Brenda, you can check out her blog at brendi dolls. She is amazing!

What a lot of work, but to see the look on customers faces as they enjoy the magic of the season makes it all worth it.
