After sanding I wiped it down with paint thinner. Then I painted it a cream color. Once I got it painted I sanded the edges and stained them with mahogany stain wiping off the excess with paint thinner.
Love the details of this little dressing table.
All finished, love the way it turned out.
You always do such a good job! I love this painted. Are you keeping it?
ReplyDeleteThat is gorgeous! Love it.
ReplyDeleteI also like this from your sidebar: "You don't always need alot of money to make your house a home.... sometimes you just need a dream and the imagination to make it happen." Amen! I always want to wait until we have money. But this time I just went with what I had for the bathroom redo. So far, I'm loving it, even with all it's ups and downs. I think I'm most excited about the custom faucet! If you have a chance, I'd be honored if you checked it out. Thanks for stopping by my blog.
that turned out so nicely- soft and pretty and just perfect for a young lady!
ReplyDeleteAmazing. I can't believe how much you sanded that puppy down! You must have the patience of a saint! Now I think I need a dressing table just like that for my bedroom...now if I could only find the space...
ReplyDeleteHi Cristie,
ReplyDeleteI'm visiting from Restored It Wednesday and I just love how you re-did this piece! The paint really makes all of its wonderful details pop. And wow are you conscientious to have taken that apart to sand!
Take care,
Erin
