Here's the before picture, sorry I forgot to take a picture with the drawers in.
I chose the creaming soft yellow paint that I used on my hutch, I love the color, it's happy and light.
Because this old mantle is so heavy I just left it on the wall to paint.. Now I know I should tape it off, but for some reason I always think I'm a better painter than I really am, (I'm just going to keep thinking that cause I hate taping.)
I couldn't wait to decorate my shelf. The platter and small paint and bowl are old ones made by Homer Laughlin..I have several pieces from that company.
Yes I can see all the smudges on my mirror, just can't find my Windex.
I think my fireplace is next to get a new coat of paint.
Love what you've done! Such a unique piece ... and the paint color you chose is wonderful. Thanks for sharing, Becca

What a fun shelf! Who needs tape? Not me. ;) I hate the stuff. I love those big, chunky candles on there, too. All together, it's wonderful!
