I forgot how much fun Mod Podge is!
Using Mod Podge is like finger painting -
You can use it messy and it still turns out clean.
Then you just want to show off your work!
It's like being a kid again!

I had this pretty scrapbooking paper so I cut out the clusters of flowers to use as the design for the gift box.
I used a foam paint brush to apply Mod Podge to the back of the paper then I stuck it onto a round 10" paper mache box. After the paper was in place I put another coat of Mod Podge on top of it and made sure to carefully smooth out any bubbles.
I painted the lid with Krylon glossy black spray paint and added a crystal knob to the top using Gorilla Glue (it works great!)
I'm giong to use this as a gift box for my friend's birthday present and fill it with soaps, lotion and other items to pamper herself with. I think she's going to love it!
Let me know what you think! Thanks!
Super cute! The crystal knob on the top really makes it unique.
ReplyDeleteOh I love that. Can you use that on say a paper lampshade?

ReplyDeleteCristie - Good job! I love the black & white pattern with the crystal knob. What a great idea for a gift box! I used mod podge on a recipe box - it turned out cute:)
ReplyDeleteLooks great! Modge Podge is awesome isn't it?
ReplyDeleteWhat a great container! I love how you used images cut out from the paper rather than the whole paper.
