Welcome Spring

After a long winter I'm so excited for spring to finally really be here. I think I'm going to take a little break from blogging and really enjoy the season. I have so many projects that I'm really looking forward to working on. Hope you all have a wonderful Spring time!

Gift Box

I forgot how much fun Mod Podge is!

Using Mod Podge is like finger painting -
You can use it messy and it still turns out clean.
Then you just want to show off your work!
It's like being a kid again!

I had this pretty scrapbooking paper so I cut out the clusters of flowers to use as the design for the gift box.

I used a foam paint brush to apply Mod Podge to the back of the paper then I stuck it onto a round 10" paper mache box. After the paper was in place I put another coat of Mod Podge on top of it and made sure to carefully smooth out any bubbles.
I painted the lid with Krylon glossy black spray paint and added a crystal knob to the top using Gorilla Glue (it works great!)
I'm giong to use this as a gift box for my friend's birthday present and fill it with soaps, lotion and other items to pamper herself with. I think she's going to love it!
Let me know what you think! Thanks!

I'm also entering this into a contest at thecsiproject.com. Check it out and wish me luck!

  6. What a great container! I love how you used images cut out from the paper rather than the whole paper.
