Welcome Spring

After a long winter I'm so excited for spring to finally really be here. I think I'm going to take a little break from blogging and really enjoy the season. I have so many projects that I'm really looking forward to working on. Hope you all have a wonderful Spring time!

Great Yard Sale Find

I fell in love with this coffee table when I saw it, even if their puppy had chewed on the corners. The top is glass so it can be used to display favorite things and also has a big drawer on the bottom.

I did some heavy sanding on it, but left the original paint because I liked the soft blue color. Once I had sanded it I stained it with mahogany stain.

Don't puppys have toys to chew on?

Once I was finished I added some of my favorite things to the top drawer, some old books, marbles and some dried flowers etc. I love old books and the cover on them are so beautiful that they deserve to be shown off. The little container holding the marbles was my Great-Grandmothers tooth pick holder.

I love the color and the distressing, I think it gives the piece alot of character.

What a great find! I figured it cost me about $20. to do this piece and of course a little hard work, but it was well worth it.

  12. Very cool table, I've seen that kind with the display portion for a lot of money at stores. So great that you could find one at a garage sale and give it new life!
