This has got to be one of my best finds ever! I saw this piece at a yard sale and knew I had to have it... they wanted $5.00 more than what I had on me, so I dug around in the bottom of my purse and in my car and came up with it! Yay! Then trying to get it into the small trunk of my car wasn't easy. I tied it down and it was a little precarious on the ride home, about 20 miles, but we made it.
I sanded it and then wiped it down with paint thinner. Next I painted it black, and because I wanted a real distressed look I sanded it a lot. Sanding is my favorite part, it's like you can take out all your frustrations on it.
After sanding I stained it with mahogany stain and rubbed it in real good and then wiped any excess off with a little paint thinner.
I love the way this piece turned out.
I love it too! I read your previous post, about it being a show stopper! So you have a shop. . . You are busy!
