Welcome Spring

After a long winter I'm so excited for spring to finally really be here. I think I'm going to take a little break from blogging and really enjoy the season. I have so many projects that I'm really looking forward to working on. Hope you all have a wonderful Spring time!

Treasure in the attic

It's been 25 years since we moved in to our home. When Bob and I first moved here in 1985 we stored some boxes up in the attic. Some of the things stored were my husband's uncle who had just recently passed away. Well for 25years those boxes have been up in the attic until a couple of weeks ago when I notice a leak in my ceiling. I got out the ladder and my flashlight and climbed up in the attic to see where the leak was coming from when I noticed the boxes. After plugging the leak til I could get someone to fix it, I brought down the boxes.. There was just some odds and ends, an old cigar box and some whiskey decanters (Uncle Dean liked his whiskey and a good cigar) and then at the bottom of the box I found this pretty little box.

And yes, just like the tag says, it's musical. Isn't that amazing that it still has the tag on it!
The top with Blue Boy on it is made out of satin and is in perfect condition.

The sides of the music box is a pretty gold (not real gold, well maybe, oh who am I kidding, it fake) filigree design.

When I open the music box the tuned it played was "Strangers in the Night"
Bob passed away earlier this year, so this was a very special treasure for me to find. I cry every time I open it, but it is beautiful. I've always loved music boxes, just something magical about them.
