Spooky Spider Web Tree
How to Create a Fun Halloween Decoration
Sure to Spook all the Trick-or-Treaters!
You Will Need:
Clay Pot - Spray painted blackStyrofoam
A Few Branches - I used some that were about 3-4 feet long
Rocks
Black Tulle
Spanish Moss
Orange Lights - I use 100 count
Spider Webbing
Plastic Spiders
Tree Stump - Or anything that will create different heights
Fall LeavesOther Halloween Decorations - Jack-O-Lanterns, Crows, etc...
Start by gluing two layers of Styrofoam into the clay pot, then stick the branches in at different heights.
Next put some rocks in the pot to weigh it down so the wind won't blow it over. Then add some black tulle on top of the rocks(you could also use Spanish Moss)
Then wrap the branches with the orange lights and stretch the spider web all over to give it a realistic look. Then throw on your plastic spiders!
I decided to add some spanish moss and autumn leaves.
To complete the look, I added a tree stump
(that I swiped from my neighbors wood pile)
and put a Jack-O-Lantern on top of it.
I also added a black crow, a frog and some fall leaves.
--It's looks great when it's dark and all lit up!--
Tip: Be sure your lights are working before you put the webbing on!
I got mine done & only half the lights worked so I had to start over, BOO!
The black mysterious object next to the stump... is my cat, Miss Kitty. She is always getting in my pictures without me noticing! She is the perfect black cat for Halloween, and by the way she's 11 years old.
I will be showing off my project at:
